Lucky fan takes his place in squad picture
Since its launch in April, the Pompey Lottery has given away thousands of pounds in cash prizes – as well as some truly amazing money-can’t-buy experiences.
The first of our experience winners was Tim Rawding from Hampshire, who enjoyed a day to remember earlier this year when he joined the squad for their annual team photo.
Speaking after winning this much sought after prizes, he said: “I was amazed to see that I had won the team photo experience on week one of the lottery and was curious about what it entailed.
“On the day I met with the club’s chief executive for coffee before being led onto the Fratton Park pitch where I was greeted by the team.
“Imagine a typical team photo but with the middle seat sat vacant – this was for me.
“Andy Awford greeted me with a handshake and then I took my place alongside him, surrounded by the players and coaching staff, before the photo was taken.”
Tim was also treated to a tour of Fratton Park by club PR and media consultant Colin Farmery and the opportunity to watch a training session.
All of this before settling down for brunch in the boardroom, where he sat for an hour with chief executive Mark Catlin and commercial and marketing manager Micah Hall.
“Mark and Micah are both interesting guys,” said Tim. “I thoroughly enjoyed my time with them – and the training session must’ve worked because we beat Stevenage the following night!”
When asked for his feelings about the lottery, Tim said: “All this for a £2 stake in the Pompey Lottery – not a bad return!”
The aim of the Pompey Lottery is to raise much needed funds for the club’s youth development programme.
For just £2 per week, fans can help us in our aim of securing the future of Portsmouth Football Club, plus have the chance to win some fantastic cash prizes and club experiences.
