Watch world stars in action at the Guildhall
Pompey season ticket holders are being offered a discount to the city’s premier darts event thanks to a new partnership with MODUS Darts, promoters of the annual ‘Untouchables’, which sees some of the world’s best players collide at Portsmouth Guildhall.
The 2014 ‘u moove Untouchables’ takes place on Saturday, December 6 and is headlined by world number one and reigning World Champion Michael van Gerwen.
Joining ‘Mighty Mike’ in an incredible line-up befitting of any major televised tournament are his Dutch compatriot and five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld, double World Champion Adrian Lewis and James Wade, who has won seven major titles in the PDC.
Also on show are Australian ace Simon Whitlock, who is based in Waterlooville, former Lakeside World Championship winner Mark Webster of Wales, quick-fire Dutchman Vincent van der Voort and darts legend Bobby George.
Local professional aces Andy Jenkins and former Under-21 World Champion Arron Monk will complete the line-up for what is set to be the biggest and best staging of the event yet.
And Pompey season ticket holders are being offered a 10 per cent discount* on tickets booked via the Guildhall. A promotional code will be sent out via email with instructions of how to activate this discount.
Van Gerwen, who won the World Grand Prix last weekend, said: “This will be one of the best non-televised events I have played in. All of the players involved are among the very best in the world so it will be very competitive evening.
“I have played in Portsmouth a couple of times and it is always a full house and a great night so I’m really looking forward to this one. I hope the football fans take up the special offer and add to the atmosphere.
“With the World Championship around the corner we will all want to be at our very best. I’m sure the fans will fill the venue and create a great atmosphere and we will try to bring the house down with some world class darts.”
