CLOSE STARTS AGAINST BURY

18 April 2015

Three changes for Shakers clash

Ben Close makes his first league start for Pompey against promotion-chasing Bury this afternoon.

The 18-year-old academy graduate has not featured for the senior side since coming off the bench in November’s FA Cup draw with Aldershot.

There are a total of three changes from the side narrowly beaten at Stevenage during the week.

Jed Wallace returns from a hamstring problem to appear in a diamond midfield, while Craig Westcarr comes in up front.

Caretaker boss Gary Waddock is only able to name six players on the bench, including teenage academy prospect Adam May.

James Dunne and Ryan Taylor both miss out through injury, while Dan Butler drops to the bench.

Pompey: Jones; Devera, Nosworthy, Webster, Shorey; Close, Atangana, Wallace, Hollands (c); Westcarr, Tubbs
Subs: Poke, Ertl, May, Butler, Fogden, Chaplin
