Keeper interviewed for Plymouth programme

With just six games of the season to go, Pompey appear to have only pride to play for.

The Blues are 11 points adrift of the League Two play-off places and the same number clear of the bottom two.

But Paul Jones insists that the players are not already thinking about their summer holidays.

The goalkeeper is determined to end the campaign on a high by picking up as many wins as possible.

“It was be easy just to let the season peter out and start looking ahead to next one,” says Jones in the official matchday magazine for the Easter Monday clash with Plymouth. “But we have to do our jobs.

“We’ve got standards as professional footballers and we can’t let them drop whatever the circumstances.

“We approach every match with the aim of picking up three points and that will never change.

“But at times it hasn’t been anywhere near good enough from us, so it’s up to the players and staff to get together and put things right.”

To read the full interview – where Jones also talks about his own form – pick up a copy of the matchday magazine from programme sellers around the ground.
