DOYLE TARGETING SUCCESS

7 August 2015

Midfielder interviewed in Saturday's programme

The long wait is almost over.

After several weeks of pre-season training and friendly matches, the 2015/16 campaign gets underway on Saturday with a match against Dagenham & Redbridge.

A packed Fratton Park will welcome a new manager in Paul Cook and several fresh faces on the pitch.

One of those is Michael Doyle and he is targeting a successful season on the south coast.

“We’re under no illusions as to what’s expected of us here,” says the midfielder in the official matchday magazine for Saturday’s clash with Dagenham & Redbridge. “The manager said straight away what he was looking for from us.

“I’m not saying it’s going to click overnight – there are a lot of new guys and it could take a bit of time.

“But we’ve got a great dressing room with a fantastic bunch of lads. There are no egos and we’ve all bonded.

“It’s all coming together off the pitch and now we have to make sure the same thing happens on it.”

Also in issue one of the new-look programme, Kal Naismith dishes the dirt on his team-mates and Conor Chaplin selects his dream team.

We take an in-depth look at Dagenham & Redbridge before delving into the Pompey archives to take a walk down memory lane.

There are also exclusive columns from chairman Iain McInnes, manager Paul Cook and skipper Doyle.

All this and much, much more in a packed 84 pages is available for just £3.
