MATCH PREVIEW: CRAWLEY v POMPEY

18 August 2015

All you need to know about League Two clash

Pompey will aim for a fourth successive victory when they make the short trip to Sussex to face Crawley on Tuesday evening.

Paul Cook’s side have already seen off Dagenham and Plymouth in the league, as well as knocking Championship side Derby out of the Capital One Cup.

Now they take on a Red Devils side who relegated last season to end a three-year stay in the third tier of English football.

They started the current campaign with a 1-1 draw at Oxford and then, after a cup exit to Peterborough, lost at home to AFC Wimbledon last Saturday.

Crawley are managed by former Kidderminster and Cheltenham boss Mark Yates, who took charge following the club’s slide into League Two.

TEAM NEWS
Paul Cook is set to stick with the same side that triumphed at Home Park at the weekend.

Jack Whatmough (knee) is still a long-term absentee, while Kal Naismith (thigh) is the only other player on the injury list.

Lanre Oyebanjo and Gavin Tomlin are both out for the hosts after undergoing surgery, while Conor Henderson (ankle) is a doubt and former Pompey striker Izale McLeod could miss out as he seeks a move away from the club.
