Championship opposition for Blues

Pompey have been drawn at home to Championship side Reading in the second round of the Capital One Cup.

The tie will be played at Fratton Park in the week beginning August 24.

It is the Blues who have the better overall record in meetings between the sides, with 21 victories compared to the Royals' 11.

But the sides have not met since they were both in the second tier during the 2011/12 campaign, when each club won their home fixture 1-0.

Pompey have already seen off Championship opposition, beating Derby 2-1 at home in the first round, while Reading advanced with an extra-time triumph at Colchester
