Vote for academy star

Adam May is among the contenders for League Football Education’s (LFE) January Goal of the Month award.

The Pompey academy youngster was nominated for his fantastic long-range finish in a 4-2 victory at Plymouth.

He is joined by nine other players on the shortlist for the prize, which is decided by an online public vote.

The full list is:

- Jordan Shipley: COVENTRY CITY v Huddersfield Town
- Adam May: Plymouth Argyle v POMPEY
- Ademola Lookman: CHARLTON ATHLETIC v Bristol City
- Amir Gied: SWINDON TOWN v Exeter City
- Charles Vernam: DERBY COUNTY v Newcastle United
- George Lapslie: CHARLTON ATHLETIC v Brentford
- Lee Hetherington: MIDDLESBROUGH v Newcastle United
- Joshua Umerah: CHARLTON ATHLETIC v Bristol City
- Offrande Zanzala: DERBY COUNTY v Sunderland

LFE chief executive Alan Sykes said: “This competition remains hugely popular and is a great reminder of the great work that is going on to develop young players at Football League clubs.”
