PASSLEY: A FRUSTRATING AFTERNOON

28 February 2015

Wing-back disappointed with Oxford draw

A goalless draw against Oxford saw Pompey’s unbeaten run extended to seven matches.

But Josh Passley was annoyed that they could not secure all three points.

The Blues created the best openings in a game that was short on clear-cut chances.

However, a couple of fine saves from United keeper Ryan Clarke meant that they had to settle for a share of the spoils.

Passley said: “It was a frustrating afternoon for us because we had most of the possession, but couldn’t quite break them down.

“We wanted to come away with all three points and we’re disappointed that we couldn’t.

“You just have to keep probing away and try to switch the play as much as you can.

“There were a lot of half-chances, but we didn’t have enough clear-cut ones if I’m being honest.

“But I’m pleased that we still haven’t lost since I’ve been here and also picked up four wins along the way.

“We’ve seen that any team can beat any other in this league, so if we can continue this run then who knows where we’ll end up.”

Next up for Pompey is a trip to Northampton on Tuesday night to face another side enjoying a fine run of form.

Passley said: “They’ve just beaten Shrewsbury and are doing really well at the moment, but hopefully we can go there and get a point or three.”
