TAYLOR: WE'RE FULL OF CONFIDENCE

24 February 2015

Striker looking forward to Tranmere test

Pompey should not be short of self-belief ahead of Tuesday night’s clash with Tranmere.

Ryan Taylor has revealed that spirits are high following their 6-2 thumping of Cambridge at the weekend.

He was among the scorers at the Abbey Stadium, with strike-partner Matt Tubbs bagging a hat-trick.

And Taylor now wants to see the Blues build on their run of five unbeaten matches when they host Rovers.

He said: “It was a great result on Saturday. The boys were all terrific and it was nice for me personally to get on the score-sheet.

“We’ve been working hard in training and trying to nail down our game-plan, but I think that performance has been coming.

“I’m sure the fans really enjoyed themselves and we had excellent support up there as always.

“But we’ve got a couple of tough home games coming up now and we need to build on our good run.

“Our form is decent at the moment and it means that we go into the Tranmere match full of confidence.

“We’ve got games coming thick and fast, but that’s exactly what you want when you’re collecting plenty of points.

“This is a tough league and consistency is key, so we want to continue winning matches and moving up the table.”

Taylor is pleased that his partnership with the prolific Tubbs is starting to pay dividends.

He said: “We’re playing alongside each other in training every day and are starting to learn more about what the other one’s about.

“I think you can see in the last few weeks that we’re starting to build a decent relationship and I’m sure we can score a few more goals.”

Ryan Taylor is 11/2 with Sky Bet to open the scoring against Tranmere. Bet at www.skybet.com/pompey to increase our chances of claiming £250,000 from the Sky Bet Transfer Fund.
