BARCHAM: I'LL GROW STRONGER

23 January 2015

Winger interviewed for Southend programme

It has been a stop-start first half of the season for Andy Barcham.

The winger was in and out of the side before a groin injury kept him sidelined before Christmas.

But he has forced his way into the side recently and made a first home start in last week’s draw with Burton.

Now Barcham is looking to keep his place and grow stronger with every game.

“My performances will improve through match sharpness,” he says in the official matchday magazine for Saturday’s clash with Southend at Fratton Park. “I think you could see that I was getting tired towards the end.

“Sometimes my mind wants me to do things that my body can’t quite manage at the moment, but that’s only going to improve through games.

“The more minutes that I’m out on the pitch then the better I’m going to get, so I’ll be working hard in training to make sure I’m ready to go when called upon.”

To read the full interview – where Barcham also discusses Pompey’s recent form – pick up a copy of the matchday magazine from programme sellers around the ground.
