POMPEY RENEW EXPRESS FM PARTNERSHIP

4 July 2015

Commentary of every match also on Pompey Player

Pompey are delighted to announce the renewal of their partnership with 93.7 Express FM – Portsmouth’s only radio station – for a sixth consecutive season.

Express FM will become the club’s FM radio media partner and will carry promotional advertising for the club across its schedule throughout the year.

Every matchday, Express FM will broadcast commentary of every Blues game home and away on its 93.7 FM frequency, which covers the greater Portsmouth area.

The arrangement will also see the club use the popular Pompey Live show on its Pompey Player subscription service, which carries commentary on every match all over the globe.

The commentary team of Dan Windle, Dave ‘Bunky’ Bowers and expert summariser Alan Knight will be reunited for the first time on Saturday, July 11, as the Blues play their first pre-season friendly at Havant & Waterlooville.

Pompey chief executive Mark Catlin said: “We are really pleased to have renewed this deal. As a community football club it is essential we engage with our local community, so working with Express FM is an important part of our media strategy.

“Our partnership with Express FM is an enduring one and we look forward to working with them again next season.”

David Harber, commercial and brand manager at Express FM, said: “We are especially excited about today's agreement. There’s a real feel of hope and expectation around this season.

“Our team of commentators and sports journalists are poised to provide not only better, but also more Pompey content on Express FM.

“We are always proud to be bringing our unique partisan commentary to a weekly audience in excess of 30,000 people and making them part of the excitement, drama and suspense that exists with every single Pompey game.”

Dan Windle added: “The commentary team are ready bring the listeners some exciting fresh ideas and introduce more special voices along the way.”

The radio station will also continue its popular weekday Football Hours and the first of the new season will be a special, hosted by Dan Windle, on Tuesday, July 7, when new manager Paul Cook and chief executive Mark Catlin will be the special guests from 6pm.
