Take part in new community project

Pompey in the Community’s ‘Life n Chimes’ project focuses on helping those who suffer from – or are at risk of developing – dementia and also, importantly, the carers.

Based at Fratton Park and making use of the various suites available, the programme will run on a four-week cycle starting on Wednesday, June 17 (10am-12pm) in the Alliance Lounge.

Week one will have a café style approach and will include a number of guests speakers sharing their experiences on the subject of the week, helping the group to reminisce.

Week two will be the same, but with an emphasis on the participants bringing objects or memories of their own to facilitate the session.

The Victory Lounge will be the location for week three, which will involve ‘New Age Kurling’ at one end of the room with a tea/coffee drop-in café at the other end, so that participants can take part in the practical element or just relax with a cuppa!

Week four will see a visit to a local place and will be arranged during the first three weeks.

Weeks one to three will all take part between 10am and 12pm, while week four will be arranged during this period.

If you, or someone you know, would benefit from taking part in this fun, relaxed session in a safe and interesting environment, then please come along.

This is a drop-in session so there is no need to sign up, just turn up and take part!

For more information, please contact james.lang@pompeyitc.org.uk

The Alliance and Victory lounges are both located behind the Fratton End.
