Who replaces Robinson against Cheltenham?

He has been part of a solid Blues back-line that has helped keep six clean sheets in the last 10 games.

But Paul Robinson will not be able to help Pompey build on that record against Cheltenham on Tuesday night.

The defender faces a spell on the sidelines after getting a hefty whack on the face while clearing a goal-bound effort in the victory over Luton at the weekend.

And it leaves Andy Awford with a decision to make about the best way to go against the Robins.

The Blues boss said: “Robbo will obviously miss out – he’s got a fracture of the cheekbone and is seeing a specialist about that.

“He will have to have surgery and will be out for weeks not days, which is a big blow. He’ll be missed.

“We’ll have to fill that role and the big question is whether we change shape and revert to a back four.

“We’ve been successful with a three – one defeat in 10 and six clean sheets – and it seems to have suited us.

“There are some things to discuss and there are a few different defensive options for us to have a look at.

“Everyone’s disappointed to be left out of the team, but this provides an opportunity for someone to step in and prove their worth.”

Pompey take on a Cheltenham side who sit just two points above the League Two drop zone and have won just one of their last 12 games.

Awford said: “They’re fighting at the wrong end of the table, but they certainly will be fighting.

“There are no easy games in this league and they defended well to get a point at Newport on Friday.

“We have to be ready for them and make sure that we approach the game in the right manner.

“All I can affect is what we do and I want us to maintain the performance levels that we’ve shown recently.”

Pompey are 17/20 favourites to beat Cheltenham. Bet at to increase our chances of claiming £250,000 from the Sky Bet Transfer Fund.
