CHAPLIN NOMINATED FOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE AWARD

18 March 2015

Striker up for Apprentice of the Year prize

Conor Chaplin has been shortlisted in the LFE League Two Apprentice of the Year category at the 2015 Football League Awards.

The teenage striker is up against AFC Wimbledon’s Ben Harrison and Stevenage’s Ryan Johnson.

The Apprentice of the Year award recognises outstanding young professionals at Football League clubs, who excel both on and off the pitch.

The winners of all categories will be announced at a gala ceremony at The Brewery, London on Sunday, April 19.

Drew Barrand, marketing director of The Football League, said: “The Football League Awards 2015 provides not just the opportunity to recognise star performances, but also the chance to celebrate the last 10 years of the event.

“This is the best year yet in terms of the standard and number of entries, so to make the shortlists is a real achievement by the clubs and individuals involved.

“We wish all those nominated the best of luck and look forward to a fantastic evening in April when we will announce the winners.”

Craig Westcarr has already been shortlisted for the Mitre Goal of the Year award, taking place in conjunction with Soccer AM.
