Devera hoping for successful end to the season
Pompey were unable to break down 10-man Accrington last week.
But Joe Devera believes it can be viewed as a positive point – as long as they beat Luton at Fratton Park on Saturday.
The Blues have failed to win any of their last three games, but conceded just one goal in that time.
And Devera has targeted a healthy haul of points in the final weeks of the season.
The defender said: “It’s another massive game for us on Saturday. Luton are a strong side, but we’ve been in decent form lately, so it should be a good game.
“We’ve defended well as a unit and have got plenty of clean sheets lately, which is the basis of positive results.
“We fought hard to get a point on the road last week and that’s always useful as long as you go on to win your home matches.
“The run we went on recently probably came too late really, but there is still time for us.
“There always seems to be one team that makes a late surge for the play-offs and hopefully that can be us this season.”
Luton sit fifth in the League Two table as they seek a second successive promotion, but have lost four of their last five games.
Devera said: “I think our successes this season have come from not worrying too much about the other team.
“We like to concentrate on what we do, so I’m not going to focus on Luton too much to be honest.”
