WESTCARR SHORTLISTED FOR GOAL AWARD

Yeovil stunner in top 10

Craig Westcarr has been shortlisted for the Mitre Goal of the Year prize at the Football League Awards.

The striker’s stunning effort at Yeovil in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy has been chosen as one of the 10 best in 2014.

Westcarr took down a brilliant chipped pass from Miles Storey before expertly lobbing the ball over Glovers keeper Chris Weale in the 3-1 triumph at Huish Park.

Andy Mangan – Shrewsbury Town
Jordan Cook – Walsall

Voting closes at midnight on Tuesday, March 24, when the 10 goals will be whittled down to leave just five.

The overall winner will then be decided on the night at the 2015 Football League Awards.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the event, which takes place at The Brewery in London on Sunday, April 19.
