COOK APPOINTED POMPEY MANAGER

12 May 2015

Former Chesterfield boss takes charge at Fratton

Portsmouth Football Club are delighted to welcome Paul Cook to Fratton Park as new first team manager.

The 48-year-old joins Pompey after an agreement was reached with Chesterfield to release him from his current contract.

Meanwhile, talks are ongoing with his assistant Leam Richardson about joining the Blues coaching team.

Since his appointment at the Proact Stadium in October 2012, Cook has guided the Derbyshire outfit to the League Two title in 2014 and into the League One play-offs this season.

He has previously had spells in charge at Southport, Sligo Rovers in Ireland and Accrington.

Portsmouth Football Club would like to thank Chesterfield for their help and co-operation in ensuring this matter was handled as professionally and efficiently as possible.
