Pompey progressed to the second round of the Emirates FA Cup with a 2-1 victory over Macclesfield at Fratton Park.Adam McGurk gave them an early lead when he collected Kyle Bennett's threaded pass and fired home off the inside of the post.
But Kristian Dennis soon levelled for the non-league visitors after charging down a Brian Murphy clearance.
McGurk then grabbed the winner in first half stoppage-time, stabbing into the net following a scramble in the box.
