MATCH PREVIEW: CAMBRIDGE v POMPEY

9 October 2015

All you need to know about League Two clash

A trip to Cambridge brought Pompey some rare joy on the road last season.

Matt Tubbs’ hat-trick helped the Blues romp to a 6-2 triumph at the Abbey Stadium – one of just three away league wins.

That is a record that has already been matches this term and Paul Cook’s side will be aiming to return to winning ways after back-to-back home fixtures yielded just a single point.

United are currently sitting 15th in the League Two table – 11 places and six points behind Pompey.

Richard Money’s men have won only one of their last nine games and drew 2-2 at York last Saturday.

TEAM NEWS
Jayden Stockley and Adam McGurk are both sidelined with knee injuries, with Paul Jones (knee) and Jack Whatmough (knee) also out.

Brian Murphy has returned to training following a groin problem, but is unlikely to go straight back into the team.

Cambridge will have to do without Josh Coulson (calf) and Keith Keane (groin), while Harrison Dunk (hamstring) is also a doubt.

QUOTES
Paul Cook and Aaron McCarey have both offered their thoughts on the game.
