MATCH PREVIEW: NOTTS COUNTY v POMPEY

30 October 2015

All you need to know about League Two clash

Pompey will look to extend their unbeaten away run when they travel to Notts County this weekend.

While the Blues have stuttered slightly at home, they have dropped just four points on the road so far this season.

Their opponents have taken a while to settle into League Two life following their relegation from the third tier last term.

Ricardo Moniz’s men got off to a fine start with a 2-0 triumph at Stevenage on the opening day, but then failed to win any of their next four games.

They followed that with a run of three victories from four matches to highlight their inconsistency.

And County go into Saturday’s test having won just once in six fixtures, although that three-point haul came against Yeovil the last time they played at Meadow Lane.

Pompey last met the Magpies in the 2012/13 campaign, when they lost both League One meetings and an FA Cup first round clash.

TEAM NEWS
Paul Jones (knee), Gary Roberts (ankle), Jayden Stockley (ankle) and Jack Whatmough (knee) are all sidelined, but Gareth Evans is available again after serving a three-match ban.

Former Pompey strike Izale McLeod is likely to start for the hosts, but Thierry Audel – who once spent a trial period at Fratton Park – is out with an ankle problem.
