Boss rewarded for unbeaten month
Paul Cook has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month award.
He is up against Plymouth’s Derek Adams, Wycombe’s Gareth Ainsworth and Leyton Orient’s Ian Hendon for the August prize.
Pompey have enjoyed an unbeaten month, collecting 11 points from a possible 15 to sit fourth in the table at this early stage.
There have been victories over Dagenham & Redbridge (3-0), Plymouth (2-1) and Luton (2-1), with draws against Crawley (0-0) and Morecambe (3-3).
The judging panel includes former Ipswich boss George Burley, Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman, Football League chief operating officer Andy Williamson, League Managers’ Association director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet football trading manager Paul Lowery.
The winner will be announced on Friday.
