McNULTY: AN EXCITING TIME

15 April 2016

Striker interviewed in Plymouth programme

There will be plenty of butterflies around Fratton Park this weekend as Pompey face fellow promotion contenders Plymouth.

The Blues will leapfrog their Devon opponents in the League Two table if they can pick up all three points.

With so much at stake, fans and players alike could be forgiven for feeling tense ahead of kick-off.

But Marc McNulty is delighted to be involved in such a crucial game and looking for Pompey to build some more momentum.

“This is the stage of the season that the fans love – and the players do too,” he says in the official matchday magazine for Saturday’s clash with Plymouth. “These are the kind of games that you want to be involved in.

“It’s very exciting for everyone and we’re going into every match hoping we can extend our run. This form has come at an important time, with fixtures starting to run out.

“Fans have already told me that whatever happens this season, based on the past few years we’ve already achieved a lot, although I’m sure there will be some who disagree.

“But we all know that we were brought here to help win promotion and that’s what we’re looking to do.”

To read the full interview – where McNulty also discusses the battle for a place in Pompey’s attack – pick up a copy of the matchday magazine from programme sellers around the ground on Saturday.

Also in issue 27, Kieron Freeman dishes the dirt on his team-mates and Christian Burgess selects his dream team.

We take an in-depth look at Plymouth before delving into the archives to take a walk down memory lane.

There are also exclusive columns from chairman Iain McInnes, manager Paul Cook, skipper Michael Doyle and broadcaster Ian Darke.

All this and much, much more in a packed 84 pages is available for just £3.
