ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS...

24 December 2016

Players reveal their favourite gifts and what they want to see under the tree

GARY ROBERTS
I got an unbelievable bike when I was 11. I stayed up until midnight on Christmas Eve and immediately went out riding it.

I’m not sure what I want this year, but I know what I’ll be getting – I always get loads of boxers, socks and shower gel!

CARL BAKER
All the lads in my street had a bike and I was the last to get one. I had to ride around everywhere with my big brother, but when I got my own I could finally join in with the others.

It’s hard to know what you want when you get older because you tend to have everything, although a new set of golf clubs under the tree would be nice.

Then it’s my birthday on Boxing Day, so a nice present for that would be three points at Newport.

CONOR CHAPLIN
The best present was probably my first pair of Adidas football boots when I was around eight. I usually got football stuff – Pompey shirt, Barcelona shirt, Arsenal shirt.

All I’m looking for this year is for us to win promotion!

KYLE BENNETT
My mum bought me a Sega Mega Drive and Sonic game when I was kid. We were really poor, but she scraped together the money.

The dream present this year is good health and three points on the board on Boxing Day.

TOM DAVIES
I always used to get a Manchester United shirt every year and my favourite one had ‘Beckham’ and the number seven on the back. I also got an Xbox.

I haven’t asked for anything this year, but I’ll probably get undies. They’re so expensive these days, so hopefully someone will sort me out.

LIAM O’BRIEN
My favourite presents were probably football boots and goalie gloves. I’m at the age now where I don’t know what to ask for, but a winning lottery ticket would be nice.

JACK WHATMOUGH
I used to buzz off getting football kits and I would change the team that I supported every year!

My dream present this year would be a nice holiday in the sun for when the season is over.
