MATCH PREVIEW: MORECAMBE v POMPEY

2 February 2016

All you need to know about League Two clash

Pompey will look to get their promotion push back on track with victory at Morecambe tonight.

Paul Cook’s side are currently seven points off the automatic places in sixth spot, but have games in hand over all of the top three.

The hosts are down in 15th, but nearer the top seven than they are the drop zone.

Morecambe go into the game on the back of three successive defeats, including a 2-1 reverse at home to Newport on Saturday.

The Shrimps have no new faces to select against the Blues following a quiet deadline day at the Globe Arena.

They picked up a point at Fratton Park earlier in the campaign, although it arguably should have been all three.

Morecambe roared into a three-goal lead, only for Gary Roberts’ brace and a last-gasp Jayden Stockley header to salvage a draw for Pompey.

TEAM NEWS
Danny Hollands (leg) is still sidelined, but recent loan signing Kieron Freeman could make his debut after being cup-tied for the Bournemouth match.

Michael Smith is also ready to feature after completing a deadline day loan switch from Swindon.

Aaron McGowan will miss out for the hosts with a hamstring problem, while Aaron Wildig (hamstring) is also a doubt.
