A unique opportunity from PitC and Jobsite

Are you aged between 17 and 22? Would you like to spend three months volunteering abroad?

If the answer to those questions is yes, then make sure to read on.

Pompey in the Community and Jobsite have teamed up to offer young people an exciting and unique opportunity.

A group of 15 will have the chance to attend regular sessions at Portsmouth Football Club which will help improve employment prospects and prepare futures. The weekly experiences will also support participants in their application to volunteer abroad.

You will need to be available from 10am-3pm on Tuesdays, starting on January 26. The initial programme will be based at Fratton Park and the Pompey Study Centre in Anson Road.

It includes:
- Team building
- Organisational skills
- Business structures
- CV writing
- Interview techniques
- Social action projects
- Event planning

Those who successfully complete the programme will be supported to apply for a three-month volunteering project abroad. We have previously had young people visit Cape Town and Burkina Faso in west Africa, but there opportunities all over the world.

The projects abroad will help develop skills and improve lives for young people and their communities.

Beyond Blue will enable you to improve your team work, problem solving and decision making, while also enabling you to experience a different culture.

There is no cost for taking part in the Portsmouth-based programme and we will support you in fundraising for the contribution involved with the opportunities abroad.
