Pompey winger nominated for player prize
Gareth Evans has been shortlisted for the Sky Bet League Two December Player of the Month award.
The Pompey winger will have to fight off competition from Oxford’s John Lundstram, Wycombe’s Jason McCarthy and Bristol Rovers’ Matty Taylor to claim the prize.
Evans was nominated after scoring three goals last month, finding the target in successive matches against Hartlepool, Northampton and Leyton Orient.
The winner will be announced on Friday and is decided by a judging panel that comprises Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman, Football League head of communications John Nagle, League Managers’ Association director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet football trading manager Paul Lowery.
