Job title: Computer Technician and Head of Operations
Responsible to: CEO
Hours per week: 37.5
Salary: Dependent upon qualifications and experience

The role
- To provide overall operational and IT support within the charity
- To ensure that the resources of the charity are applied effectively and efficiently to meet the overall aims and objectives of the charity

Key responsibilities
- ICT support and administration
- Day to day operational duties

Main duties
- Provide ICT hardware and software support, including the support of any audio and visual systems
- Maintain and record ICT equipment details and keep an accurate record of work
- Provide support for all users and diagnose and rectify computer related hardware and software faults
- Monitor network performance and carry out continual network maintenance activities
- Assist with ICT training sessions for staff and customers as requested
- Ensure all service requests are logged with all information required
- Coordinate and perform proactive maintenance including the routine checks of ICT to ensure normal operation
- Deploy and configure staff ICT equipment
- Actively promote the charity and its services trying to identify potential opportunities
- Assist with the coordination and planning of special projects and preparing associated plans and reports where necessary, including working as part of a team to deliver larger ICT or educational projects
- Comply with, and promote as appropriate, local statutory or policy requirements in relation to such issues as Health and Safety, Data Protection, Computer Misuse and Equal Opportunities
- Responsible for planning and prioritising their own work in order to deliver specified outputs
- The post-holder must promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young and vulnerable people that they are responsible for or come into contact with
- To ensure compliance with PitC policies and procedures and financial regulations as they relate to ICT service delivery and to set and monitor relevant budgets and recharges
- To provide advice, support and training to other staff as appropriate in relation to the use of information systems and facilities
- To ensure that the charity’s facilities are available for private hire at times when they are not needed for delivery within the charity itself
- To ensure that accurate room bookings are taken, facilities are organised and software installed to meet required needs
- This role will require evening and weekend working

For this job we are looking for:
- Knowledge of using ICT technology
- Knowledge of computer hardware and networking
- Ability to keep up to date with ICT technology
- Experience of working in a customer facing role and experience of working in an ICT technical coordinator role
- Good oral and written communication skills to be able to represent the company both internally and externally
- Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise conflicting demands
- Ability to be self-directed with initiative and to be able to solve practical problems with limited supervision
- Ability to work as part of a team and to develop and sustain good working relationships with internal and external customers
- Effective diagnosis, analytical and problem solving skills

Desirable
- Experience of delivering ICT based curriculum to pupils
- Experience of utilising print solutions for t-shirts, plaques, etc
- Experience of working as part of management team 
- Experience and/or knowledge of education finance, HR and other aspects of education administration
- Knowledge and experience of financial management system (Sage/Oracle)
- Experience of leading and managing budgeting and reporting processes 
- Experience of working with a range of internal and external partners  
- Knowledge and experience of managing procurement and contracts for services
- Knowledge and understanding of health and safety legislation
- Experience of managing and motivating staff 

Building maintenance
- To ensure that the building remains operational and that it is clean and comfortable
- To ensure that fixtures and fittings are working correctly
- To ensure maintenance and servicing of equipment occurs in a timely manner
- To ensure that the building conforms to the health and safety policies as above
- To monitor CCTV cameras and alarm systems
