BOGNOR v POMPEY: MATCH PREVIEW

27 July 2016

All you need to know about pre-season clash

Pompey play their penultimate pre-season friendly of the summer when they make the short trip to Bognor this evening (7.15pm kick-off).

The Rocks compete in the Isthmian Premier Division, where they will come up against Havant & Waterlooville in the 2016/17 campaign.

They almost leapfrogged the Hawks in the non-league pyramid, narrowly missing out on automatic promotion before losing to Dulwich Hamlet in the play-offs.

Bognor got their preparations for the new campaign underway with a 3-0 win at Chichester, but were beaten 4-0 by Gosport at the weekend.

The sides also met at Nyewood Lane last summer, with Matt Tubbs netting for the Blues in a 1-1 draw.

It was a more convincing display one year later, as Ryan Taylor, Miles Storey, Danny Hollands, Bradley Tarbuck, Andy Barcham and Jed Wallace all found the target in a 6-1 rout.
