BRISTOL CITY v POMPEY: MATCH PREVIEW

29 July 2016

All you need to know about Saturday's friendly

Pompey have one more chance to rehearse for the 2016/17 campaign when they visit Bristol City on Saturday (3pm kick-off).

It is the eighth and final friendly for Paul Cook’s side, following victories over Bohemians, Hawks and Bognor, draws with Sligo, Salisbury and Bournemouth, and a sole defeat to Sutton.

Their hosts have played all their previous pre-season games on the road, winning five games and only losing to Spanish top-flight side Granada.

There could be a couple of familiar faces in the Robins’ line-up, with former Blues midfielders Marlon Pack and Gary O'Neil poised to feature.

The latter made 192 appearances for Pompey and was part of the side that won promotion to the Premier League back in 2003.

Bristol City finished 18th in the Championship last term after replacing ex-Fratton boss Steve Cotterill with Lee Johnson midway through the season.
