All you need to know about friendly clash

Pompey face Bournemouth on Saturday (3pm kick-off) in their only home friendly of the summer.

The fixture, of course, also serves as a benefit match for long-serving Blues midfielder Alan McLoughlin.

The visitors have recently returned from an American training camp, where they also enjoyed a 4-0 win over Minnesota United.

Eddie Howe’s side are gearing up for their second season in the Premier League after finishing 16th last term.

The Cherries open the 2016/17 campaign at home against Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United on August 14.

They have sold former Pompey winger Matt Ritchie to Newcastle for a fee reported to be £12 million.

But Bournemouth spent more than that to bring in Jordan Ibe from Liverpool and have also signed highly-rated midfielder Lewis Cook from Leeds.

Alan McLoughlin told Pompey PlayerHD: “I’m looking forward to the game – and sampling the atmosphere again at Fratton Park.

“Once I’ve said hello, I’ll probably go and sit in the Fratton End because I’ve never sat there before.”

Pompey PlayerHD subscribers can listen to live online commentary of the game, while we’ll also have match updates on Twitter and the Pompey Wall.

There will be post-match reaction on the website, Pompey PlayerHD and our official YouTube channel, with highlights to follow on Sunday.

Tickets can be bought online here or from the Frogmore Road ticket office. They are priced £10 for adults, £5 for seniors (62+) and young persons (18-22), and £2 for juniors.

On the day of the game, they can be purchased from the booths behind the Fratton End.
