FULTON: WHAT A FEELING

6 March 2016

Keeper delighted with first clean sheet

Ryan Fulton has impressed between the sticks since arriving on loan from Liverpool in January.

But games goals into his Pompey career, the teenage stopper had yet to keep a clean sheet.

He has certainly come close on a few occasions – with last-gasp goals at Morecambe and Exeter proving particularly frustrating.

So Fulton was delighted with his maiden shut-out in senior football, as the Blues triumphed 2-0 at Stevenage.

He said: “It’s a great feeling to get that first clean sheet and hopefully there are plenty more to come.

“The win’s the most important thing, but you’ve obviously got more chance of doing that when you don’t concede.

“It’s been disappointing at times, especially when we’ve let goals in so late, like on Tuesday night.

“But we scored two good goals and it was an important result for us – now we want to go on a decent run.”

Fulton is enjoying his taste of first team football with Pompey and playing in front of such passionate supporters.

He said: “The fans are crazy and it shows you how big this club is when we get so many people coming to watch us.

“They want to see us pushing for promotion, so we need to build on the Stevenage result and win plenty more games.

“I’m loving my time here. This is a great club to be at, with magnificent players and supporters.

“It’s important for my career that I’ve been given a chance to come to Pompey and get the experience of league football.”

Some feeling today! Great 3 points time to kick on from here!! #PUP 🔵⚪🔴
