STEVENS WINS PLAYERS' VOTE

10 May 2016

Defender takes top prize at awards dinner

Enda Stevens was named Players’ Player of the Season at Pompey’s 2015/16 awards dinner.

The left-back – who has appeared 51 times for the Blues this term – received the most votes from his team-mates, ahead of Ben Davies and Michael Doyle.

But Davies was named Player of the Season by guests at the gala ceremony, with Doyle’s superb strike at Accrington selected as Goal of the Season.

Teenage defender Calvin Davies was chosen as Academy Player of the Season, while 11 goals apiece from Conor Chaplin and Marc McNulty saw them share the Golden Boot prize.

Iain McInnes welcomed guests at the Victory Lounge event before Blues boss Paul Cook and assistant manager Leam Richardson took part in a Q&A with host Chris Wise.

There was also entertainment from after dinner speaker Dean Windass, while thousands of pounds were raised for Pompey in the Community, the academy and Pompey Ladies in a raffle and auction.
