EASTLEIGH AT HOME IN FA YOUTH CUP

21 October 2016

Fratton tie for young Blues

Pompey Academy have been drawn at home to Eastleigh in the first round of the FA Youth Cup.

The tie will be played at Fratton Park before November 5, with the date and ticket information to be announced in due course.

And Mikey Harris is glad that his side have been handed home advantage, even if the visitors will not have far to travel.

He said: “It’s an interesting one with it being a bit of a local derby and we know it will be a tough game against a decent Eastleigh side.

“Playing at Fratton Park is great for the boys and we’re all very much looking forward to the tie.

“A lot of fans came out to support us against Manchester City last season and I’m sure there will be another big turnout for this match.”

Pompey reached the third round of the competition last term, winning away at Plymouth and Bristol Rovers before a narrow defeat against big-spending City.
