MATCH PREVIEW: LEYTON ORIENT v POMPEY

7 October 2016

All you need to know about League Two clash

It is a return to league action for Pompey on Saturday (3pm kick-off) when they travel to Leyton Orient.

Paul Cook’s troops will be facing a side who have recently changed their manager following a slow start to the campaign.

Andy Hessenthaler was sacked after just five months in charge, despite signing a new deal over the summer.

His replacement is 60-year-old Alberto Cavasin, who can count Fiorentina, Brescia and Sampdoria among his former clubs.

The Italian becomes the eighth man to be appointed manager since Francesco Becchetti bought the club in 2014.

Orient have only won three league games so far this season – and just once on their own patch.

They have failed to be victorious in any of their previous five outings, a run that has seen them slip down to 18th in the fourth tier table.

The Londoners did the double over Pompey last term, though, triumphing 1-0 at Fratton Park in February following a 3-2 Boxing Day win in the capital.

TEAM NEWS
Adam Buxton (ankle) and Drew Talbot (hamstring) are both out for Pompey, while Noel Hunt (groin) is also a doubt.

Former Pompey players Nigel Atangana and Paul McCallum could feature for the hosts, who are without the suspended Robbie Weir.
