Goal hero 'buzzing' after promotion is sealed
Jamal Lowe has certainly enjoyed his reintroduction to life in professional football.
The winger dropped into the non-league game after leaving Barnet a couple of years ago and had been enjoying a prolific spell for Hampton & Richmond.
But following a January switch to Pompey, he has now scored the goals to seal promotion to League One.
A second half brace at Notts County after coming off the bench secured a 3-1 victory and with Luton failing to win at Mansfield, the champagne corks started popping.
And it might take quite a bit of time before Lowe’s meteoric rise actually starts to sink in.
He said: “We were under a bit of pressure, but they were getting tired and I was coming on fresh to provide a bit of energy.
“It was a sigh of relief when my first goal went in because we knew the score at Luton and the second was just the icing on the cake.
“It’s the best feeling in the world. To come off the bench, score twice and win promotion – I’m buzzing.
“I couldn’t have written that better myself. It’s been a great week, month and season for me.
“It’s been positive after positive and stuff keeps happening to me. I said that once I got my first goal, they’d keep coming.
“I was playing in the Ryman Premier Division last season and now I’m going into League One – I can’t ask for anything better.”
