SUPPORT RESERVES IN QUARTER-FINAL CLASH

2 April 2017

Blues host Colchester in Premier League Cup

Pompey Reserves return to Premier League Cup action on Monday evening (7pm kick-off).

Colchester are the visitors to Havant & Waterlooville’s Westleigh Park for a quarter-final clash.

Nicke Kabamba scored the only goal of the game as the Blues saw off Sheffield United in the last round.

They previously reached the knock-out stages by finishing top of Group D, above Norwich, Everton and Wolves.

Coach Mikey Harris said: “I don’t think anyone thought we’d still be in the competition in April when we entered into the qualifying rounds.

“It’s been such a beneficial experience for us, so let’s see if we can get through another game.

“People are showing a real interest and attendances keep on growing, so hopefully plenty more will come out to support us on Monday evening.

“It’s going to be a tough game against Colchester and we’ll have to be at our best if we want to reach the semi-finals.”

The Premier League Cup is a tournament for under-23 sides, although teams can include three over-age outfield players and an over-age goalkeeper. Entry to the game is £5 for all supporters.
