LOWE: I CAN'T WAIT TO GET STARTED

4 January 2017

New signing eager for Fratton bow

Jamal Lowe watched from the stands as Pompey started 2017 with victory over Luton.

But the January signing from Hampton & Richmond hopes he will soon be on the pitch for matches at Fratton Park.

He had been in prolific form for the National League South outfit, with 23 goals notched in the first half of the campaign.

And now Lowe is looking to continue on the goal trail after stepping up two divisions to join the Blues.

The 22-year-old said: “I was at the Luton game with a sell-out crowd and it was just amazing. It was like nothing I’ve seen before, so I can’t wait to play at Fratton Park.

“To go from playing in front of 500 fans at a Hampton game to 17,000 is going to be a massive difference, but I’m sure I’ll be able to adapt.

“It’s going to take some time and I’m not saying I will be an instant hit, but I’m settling in well.

“Now I just want to play as much as I can and score as many goals as I can to help Pompey get promoted.

“The team are doing well at the moment and you can’t expect the gaffer to make too many changes. So I just have to wait for my chance and then be ready to take it.”
