Season ends with Peterborough visiting Fratton
Pompey will begin and end their first season back in League One at Fratton Park.
Kenny Jackett’s side host Rochdale on Saturday, August 5 and the campaign climaxes with a game against Peterborough on Saturday, May 5 (5.30pm kick-off).
The first away fixture is a relatively short jaunt to Oxford on Saturday, August 12, while Walsall will visit the south coast a week later.
And the month ends with a trip to Wigan, where the Blues will come up against former boss Paul Cook.
The Christmas period is a busy one as usual, with Pompey visiting Shrewsbury on Saturday, December 23.
They are then at home to AFC Wimbledon on Boxing Day and Northampton four days later. But the Blues start 2018 on the road, as they face Bristol Rovers on New Year’s Day.
There are also the traditional two matches over the Easter weekend – away to Walsall and at home to Wigan.
Pompey have five scheduled evening kick-offs, with midweek trips to Northampton, Doncaster and Peterborough, and floodlit Fratton fixtures against Bristol Rovers and Blackburn.
