Defender recognised for fine form
Matt Clarke has been nominated for the Sky Bet League Two February Player of the Month award.
The defender helped Pompey keep three clean sheets in six matches, as they were beaten just once to boost promotion hopes.
And he also headed home his first goal of the season in a 2-0 victory over Accrington at Fratton Park.
Clarke is up against strikers Adebayo Akinfenwa (Wycombe) and Matt Godden (Stevenage), as well as winger Matty Kennedy (Plymouth).
The judging panel consists of Sky Sports’ EFL expert Don Goodman, League Managers’ Association director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet football trading manager Paul Lowery.
The winner will be announced on Friday.
