LOWE: WE'RE FEELING POSITIVE

3 March 2017

Confidence high ahead of Crewe clash

A five-match unbeaten run has taken Pompey to the brink of the automatic promotion places.

There was frustration at Fratton Park on Tuesday night when a late Morecambe leveller denied them a spot in the top three.

But Jamal Lowe insists that confidence is still high in the squad ahead of another home clash with Crewe this weekend.

And with the Blues having a game in hand on third-placed Carlisle, the winger knows that they have their destiny in their own hands.

He said: “It’s a massive match. We’ve had a good run of results, although we were unlucky not to win on Tuesday night.

“But in the grand scheme of things a point wasn’t too bad at all, so now we’re just looking forward to the next one.

“Hopefully we can keep the run going and stay as close to the top three as we possibly can. Everyone’s feeling positive.

“We’re five games unbeaten, so we go into Saturday full of confidence and in a great position in the table.

“We’re not really focusing on the teams above us too much because we know it’s all in our own hands.

“We don’t have to rely on other sides slipping us and just have to concentrate on our own results.

“It’s good that the games are coming thick and fast now because that can really help you gain some momentum.”

Lowe has already appeared in four fixtures since joining Pompey in January and hopes for another chance to impress on Saturday.

He said: “No other stadium in League Two compares to a game at Fratton Park – it’s a great experience to play there.”
