O'BRIEN TO JOIN COVENTRY

24 May 2017

Keeper to leave Fratton Park

Liam O’Brien has agreed a deal to sign for Coventry.

The 25-year-old goalkeeper will join the League Two side when his Pompey contract expires next month.

He played three times for the Blues last season, with all of his appearances coming in the EFL Trophy group stages.

O’Brien kept a clean sheet in a victory over Bristol Rovers and also saved three penalties in a shoot-out defeat to Reading.

He came through the youth system at Fratton Park before going on to play for Barnet, Brentford and Dagenham.

But O’Brien returned last summer and deputised for David Forde, sitting on the bench for every League Two fixture.

Portsmouth Football Club would like to thank him for his contribution and we wish him well for the next stage of his career.
