He brought up a century of appearances for Pompey in Saturday’s victory over MK Dons.
And Christian Burgess hopes that there are plenty more games to come during his time on the south coast.
The defender was an integral part of the side that came so close to winning promotion in 2016, before memorably claiming the title a year later.
But there have been no champagne corks popping, as Burgess concentrates on trying to help the Blues continue to climb the table.
He said: “It’s a really proud achievement for me and it’s nice there was a win and a clean sheet to go with it.
“There were no lavish celebrations, though, because we’ve got a tough week ahead and it’s all about recovery.
"I enjoy it down here and I’m just looking forward to what’s in the future."
“The supporters have been great ever since I’ve arrived here and it’s been a rollercoaster of a journey.
“We went from the play-off disappointment against Plymouth to the success we enjoyed so much last season.
“It’s been brilliant to be a part of that. I enjoy it down here and I’m just looking forward to what’s in the future.
“My focus now is on working hard to keep my place in the team and help to create an atmosphere of success to keep moving upwards.”
Pompey will rack up plenty of miles this week, with a weekend trip to Blackburn following today’s trek to Doncaster.
Burgess said: “Travelling is part of your job and I’ve downloaded a few things on Netflix to help me out!
“We know quite a lot about Doncaster and that they can be a dangerous side, so we’ll have to be on top of our game.
“There were a lot of positives against MK Dons on Saturday, but we’re aware that there’s still a long way to go and it’s about putting a run together.”
