Ben Thompson is a Millwall supporter who has not previously appeared for another club.
But the midfielder is excited about pulling on a Pompey shirt after moving to Fratton Park on loan for the remainder of the season.
He only made fleeting appearances for the Lions last term and is now searching for more regular action on the pitch.
And Thompson hopes that some committed displays for his new club will make him popular with supporters.
He said: “I’ve been a Millwall boy all my life, but I’m here at Pompey now and looking forward to the experience.
“There have been a few weeks of conversations between people, but it’s finally done now and I’m excited.
"I always give 100 per cent and don’t hold back. My performances are going to be all-action and I hope the fans enjoy it."

“I’ve played quite a few games in League One and know what it’s all about. It’s a tough division and very demanding, so it’s a great test.

Thompson has received glowing recommendations about the Blues from a couple of familiar names.
He said: “Jed Wallace loves it down here and is always speaking highly of the club and the fans. He told me it would be a great move.
“Paul Robinson’s also a Millwall legend and he’s told me what it means to play here in front of such passionate supporters.
“Both clubs have got big fan-bases and I’ve heard it’s loud on a matchday, although I’ve not been to Fratton Park before.”
