Match Preview: Pompey Women v QPR

Blues end the year on home soil

14 December 2018

Pompey Women

Pompey Women will look to round-off 2018 in positive fashion when Queens Park Rangers visit the PMC Stadium this Sunday.

The R’s are currently the basement side in the National League and are more used to visiting Fratton Park when travelling to the south coast.

Pompey hit QPR for six in the London side’s last visit to the home of Portsmouth Football Club, as Charley Boswell, Sammy Quayle, Daisy McLachlan, Rachel Panting and EJ May all found the target.

Martino Chevannes’ outfit are without a win this season, so travel south seeking a change in fortunes.

Jade Bradley was a second half substitute for QPR at Fratton Park last term and the midfielder will come up against her former club for the first time.

Pompey will look to brush off their cup defeat at AFC Wimbledon a fortnight ago – which was only the second time they have been unable to find the net this season.

Last weekend’s fixture against Oxford fell victim to the weather, so the Blues are certainly raring to go.

Jay Sadler will once again be without Mel Burns, Hannah Geer, EJ May and Rachel Panting for the contest, but Alex Collighan is set to make her home debut.
