Match Preview: MK Dons v Pompey

All you need to know about League One clash

9 February 2018

Pompey are back on the road this weekend following successive matches at Fratton Park.

But it could very well feel like a home game when the players emerge from the tunnel at Stadium MK.

Blues fans have snapped up an incredible 6,000 tickets for the contest in an amazing show of support.

They will be hoping their side can collect a first victory of 2018 following a barren start to the calendar year.

MK Dons are desperate for points in their battle to climb out of the League One relegation zone and are currently three adrift of the safety line.

The Buckinghamshire outfit recently appointed ex-England youth coach Dan Micciche as their new manager following the departure of Robbie Neilson.

They go into the clash having collected a single point from their last four fixtures and with just one league win since mid-November.

An Oli Hawkins brace secured victory for Pompey when the sides met earlier in the season, while it was a 2-2 stalemate in the only previous Stadium MK clash back in 2012.

TEAM NEWS
Luke McGee will return between the sticks for Pompey, with Stephen Henderson’s thigh injury likely to rule him out for the remainder of the season.

Brandon Haunstrup and Jack Whatmough both returned for the reserves earlier in the week, but it is too soon for them to be considered for first team action.

Stuart O’Keefe (groin) and Danny Rose (leg) are still out, while Christian Burgess serves a one-match ban.

MK Dons will be without Chuks Aneke (suspended), Scott Golbourne (hip), Osman Sow (knee) and Joe Walsh (knee).
