Safer Internet Day

Pompey support global campaign

6 February 2018

Pompey have added their support to a global awareness campaign and are encouraging fans to ‘Create, Connect and Share Respect’ to help make the internet a better place.

Millions of people across the UK – and the world – will be celebrating Safer Internet Day on today.

Coordinated in this country by the UK Safer Internet Centre, it is an opportunity to talk to friends and family about the respectful, responsible and creative use of technology – and to remember that a better internet starts with you.

Visit www.saferinternet.org.uk to take the Safer Internet Day quiz, see what is being done to mark the occasion and find out more about what you can do to stay safe online.

The global theme is ‘Create, Connect and Share Respect: A better internet starts with you’ and Pompey are calling on fans to get involved.

Here are some ideas about how you can help to create a better internet:

• Help your family and friends to have a positive time online by giving them the information they need to stay safe. See advice at www.saferinternet.org.uk
• Promote positive messages online, whether this is by backing a cause, helping a friend, reporting abuse or by showing support for your football club!
• Make the internet a better place this Safer Internet Day by taking positive action online. From liking your friend’s content to sharing a kind message, post online using #SID2018 and join the #ItStartsWithUs social media campaign.

Remember – together we can create a better internet!

Safer Internet Day is organised in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre, which is a partnership of three charitable organisations, Childnet International, the South West Grid for Learning and the Internet Watch Foundation.
