Sylvain Deslandes hopes to make the most of his Pompey opportunity.
The versatile 20-year-old defender did not have to think twice about heading to the south coast in a loan deal from Wolves.
He has already featured in the Championship for the Molineux outfit and played the full 90 minutes of a Carabao Cup victory at Southampton earlier in the season.
But Deslandes is hoping to be on the pitch on a more regular basis now he has signed for the Blues for the remainder of the campaign.
The Frenchman said: “My agent rang me a couple of days ago and told me about the enquiry and I just jumped into it.
“I know that Pompey are a big club in this league – one of the biggest – and the ambition they have is what I’m looking for.

“First team football is what I really need at the moment, so I’m delighted to be able to get a chance here.
“It’s not good enough just to train when you’re a young player because you also need to start playing games.
“This is a club with very good supporters and it is quite similar to Wolves in that sense, so I’m looking forward to playing.
“I’m really hungry to just take my chance, to learn and to get better. I want to reach the level where I want to be.
“So I’m thankful for the opportunity that I’ve been offered and will give everything I can for Portsmouth.”
