Jamal Lowe hopes to write more chapters in his fairytale Pompey career.
The winger has just penned a new contract that will keep him on the south coast until at least the summer of 2020.
It caps a remarkable rise for the affable 23-year-old, who was playing non-league football a little over 12 months ago.
And Lowe is now looking to help bring more success to the Blues following last season’s title triumph.
He said: “It’s a great day for me and my family. We’ve all enjoyed it here at Pompey and everyone’s made me feel welcome, so it’s great to extend my stay.
“I suppose it has been a bit of a fairytale the way it has developed – I couldn’t really have asked for any better.
“Notts County away last season is probably the best day of my career and there has been one thing after the other, so I’m just enjoying it all as it comes.
"I suppose it has been a bit of a fairytale the way it has developed – I couldn’t really have asked for any better."
“We’re in the play-off positions at the moment and that’s where we want to stay for the rest of the season.
“I’ve also been able to get a more regular run in the starting 11 this season and that’s been really great.”
Lowe believes his all-round abilities have improved since swapping Hampton & Richmond for the Blues.
He said: “From the day I arrived here, I think I’ve become a better player and there are things I have added to my game to compete in League One.
“There’s a new defensive aspect, which in the past is perhaps something I’ve not really paid much attention to.
“Once I have mastered that I can hopefully get back to doing what I love – and that’s scoring goals.”
