Pompey fell to their first defeat of pre-season, going down 3-2 at League Two outfit Stevenage.
Gareth Evans gave them the lead midway through the first half, only for it to be cancelled out by Ben Kennedy.
Andronicos Georgiou then added a brace for the hosts, before substitute Conor Chaplin grabbed a late consolation.
